Sorry I haven't updated--in the midst of finals!!
So I know you know about my leg, I'm still not 100% whats going on, for stress fractures you need an MRI, but all trainers think it is shin splints. The only way to recover from that is rest. But i don't WANNA rest!!
I have been crosstraining this week on the eliptical just to stay active. I go further than the plan on the elipitcal because it isn't the same thing as running. I'm not exactly sure what to do yet--thoughts have been maybe investing in a different shoe, doing something like run 3 days crosstrain 2...i'm not exactly sure yet.
and sign ups for the race-- what did you guys put for your times? I think I'm going to sign up this weekend :)
xoxoem
The shin splints could be that you've done too much too fast? We've got I think 30 more weeks till the race, you have time to slow down a little. The schedule is more of a suggestion...
ReplyDeleteDon't kill yourself though, shin splints can be TERRIBLE. If your body says rest, rest.
For times on the race, I figured I would be able to run a 12 minute mile average at the minimum, so I just multiplied that out. I don't think its a big deal. We're not trying to win....just run, right?
p.s. Love ya girl!!
ReplyDeletehaha OH YES, i am not running to win, running to FINISH! haha :) and ya you might be right because this started like 1.5 months ago when i started...and love YOU! :)
ReplyDeleteaw keep us updated!! and just like C said, listen to your body because we want you to be all better and rest is good! praying for you E, let us know if you need anything!! :) xoxo!
ReplyDeleteLove you!
